Excimer lasers are gas laser devices using excited dimers (such as mixtures of inert gases and halogens) as the working medium, belonging to theegory of pulsed lasers in the ultraviolet band. They are excited by electron beams or fast-pulse discharges, releasing laser radiation through the dissociation of excited-state dimers. They achieve precise material removal via photochemical effects, with applications in corneal refractive surgery and dermatological treatment. In the industrial sector, they are used in lithography liurces, micro-part machining, and fiber optic inscription, among others.
